The Zenobia is a 172m long Swedish roll-on roll-off ferry that sank on her maiden voyage from Sweden to Syria. She started to list off the coast of Cyprus due to a problem with the ballast tanks. WebThe Zenobia ship was a Swedish Ferry of 172 metres, and was carrying 108 trucks as well as military equipment, and one million eggs which are still intact under water. It was given the name “Titanic of the Mediterranean” as the ship sunk on the 7 th of June 1980 during its maiden voyage outside the Larnaca Port.

The Swedish ferry was on a journey from Sweden to Syria in 1980 and then sank off the coast of Larnaca, along with the 104 loaded trucks. MS Zenobia was a Swedish-built Challenger-class RO-RO ferry launched in 1979 that capsized and sank in the Mediterranean Sea, close to Larnaca, Cyprus, in June 1980 on her maiden voyage. She now rests on her port side in approximately 42 meters (138 ft) of water and was named by The Times, and many others, as one of the top ten wreck diving sites in the world.
