WitrynaAfter 1970 there were further lichen surveys in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1978, 1984, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and the 2006 visit saw the discovery of Surtsey's 87th lichen species. Many, once discovered on the island, have been seen on all subsequent surveys but there are also many where that has not been the case.
