WebGarmin is/has released new sleep metrics which I havent found much detail, but Polar measures recovery on the first 4 hours of your sleep and averages that over the last month. In the video linked, they state that as a weakness of polar as garmin has a recovery function that directly ties the previous day load with the sleep recovery rate.
